Who am I ?
My name is Linda, founder of Studio de Poterie Linda la Poteuse.
With nine years of experience in pottery, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing this art through teaching.
I discovered pottery during my service in the Canadian Armed Forces, through the pottery club at CFB Kingston. This passion grew from the patience and discipline that the craft requires.
I also love being close to nature and animals, which is why my studio is located on my small farm — a space where creativity and the natural world come together.
The studio is an extension of this journey — a place designed to share pottery with simplicity, authenticity, and heart.
The Studio
The studio is made up of two complementary spaces: one room equipped with six wheels, perfect for personalized guidance, and a neighboring room where hand-building workshops take place around a large table that seats eight people.
The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming — everyone finds their place, their rhythm, and the space to create at their own pace.
-
The studio is located in the heart of my small farm, so you may encounter my geese, ducks, chickens, or dogs during your visit.
If you’re uncomfortable with animals or have any questions, please feel free to let me know — I’ll be happy to help. -
The studio can be accessed from the side of the house.
Parking is available right at the back, close to the entrance. -
Classes can be offered in French or English, depending on your preference.
The studio, located in my basement, provides a warm and intimate atmosphere, perfect for creating. For wheel-throwing classes, each participant receives a small set of pottery tools to use during the session. You can keep them at the end or return them to the studio if you prefer.
If you have your own tools, you are welcome to bring them. Aprons are available on site, but you’re also free to bring your own. Comfortable clothing is recommended — clay has a way of making itself at home on fabrics. A cloth or towel can also be useful, depending on your preference.
The studio is a space of respect, kindness, and shared curiosity. Everyone is welcomed with care.
-
Regular classes and workshops are open to participants aged 12 and up, unless otherwise specified in the course description.

Pottery involves the use of specialized and sometimes delicate equipment. For everyone’s comfort and safety, please follow a few simple rules:
Long hair should be tied back.
Avoid loose clothing or dangling jewelry.
Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.
Once you’ve been notified that your pieces are ready, you have 8 weeks to pick them up. After this period, they become the property of the studio and may be sold at craft markets.
-
Life can be unpredictable, and I understand that plans may change. Here’s how cancellations are handled at the studio:
Cancellation at least 7 days before the class: full refund minus 4% processing fee.
Cancellation between 7 days and 48 hours before the class: a non-transferable credit can be applied to another class, to be used within 6 months of the cancellation.
Cancellation less than 48 hours before the class or no-show: no refund or credit, except in exceptional circumstances (serious illness, family emergency, etc.). Proof may be requested.
Missed classes, including no-shows, are non-refundable. No credit will be given, but I’ll do my best to help you get back on track if you return.
